This page announces the lifting of food shipment restrictions by Japan's Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures Headquarters on May 19, 2021. The restrictions on American catfish (excluding farmed products) caught in Ibaraki Prefecture's Lake Kasumigaura, Lake Kitaura, and Lake Sotonasaka, as well as their tributary rivers and the Hitachi Tone River, have been lifted under the Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures Special Measures Act. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's Pharmaceutical and Food Safety Division manages the matter, with details provided in attached documents.
