This page announces emergency staff increases to strengthen Japan's agricultural and food product exports. The government established an interministerial conference in April to accelerate regulatory compliance in destination countries. By June, approximately 100 key issues and implementation roadmap were identified. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare will add 28 staff members (including 14 in Food Surveillance and Safety Division), and the Ministry of Agriculture will add 20 staff plus one Cabinet Counselor. A Food Export Promotion Project Team was established on July 9, enabling the government to comprehensively promote food exports.
