This page reports the investigation results on radioactive cesium in food conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare from September to October 2017 across 15 regions nationwide. The annual radiation dose received by people from radioactive cesium in distributed food was estimated at 0.0006-0.0011 millisieverts/year, which is less than 1% of the current regulatory limit of 1 millisievert/year. These extremely low values confirm food safety. The ministry plans to continue such surveys regularly.
