This page is a May 21, 2018 press release from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announcing that the Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures Headquarters instructed Niigata Prefecture to set shipment restrictions on wild koshiabura (Japanese angelica tree sprouts) produced in Minami-Uonuma City and Yuzawa Town. Test results detected radioactivity levels exceeding safety standards in these locally-produced koshiabura, necessitating the implementation of shipment restrictions under the Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures Act.
