This page reports the results of a Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare survey conducted from September to October 2014 across 15 regions nationwide on radiation exposure from radioactive cesium in food. The survey estimated that annual radiation exposure from food-derived radioactive cesium is 0.0007-0.0022 millisieverts per year, which is less than 1% of the regulatory limit of 1 millisievert per year. The ministry will continue similar surveys to verify food safety.
