This page presents major decisions issued by Japan's Central Labour Relations Commission in 2023 (Reiwa 3). Three unfair labour practice cases are listed. In the YANO-J case, the Commission ruled that a principal contractor's status as employer under labour law does not stem from workers' compensation procedures. The Kyoritsu Maintenance case upheld that refusing collective bargaining due to union constitution defects constitutes unfair labour practice. The Crayon case confirmed that unilateral termination of union shop and check-off agreements violates labour law.
