This page announces the Japan Fair Trade Commission's selection of priority industries for subcontracting law inspections in fiscal year 2023. Based on the 2023 Action Plan and reviewing cases of unfair price reductions from the previous year, the commission selected five industries: information services, road freight transport, metal products manufacturing, production machinery manufacturing, and transportation equipment manufacturing. The commission will conduct intensive on-site inspections in these industries and promptly implement recommendations and guidance under the subcontracting law against violations such as unilateral price freezes without consultation between primary and subcontracting businesses.
