This page announces administrative measures taken on March 30, 2020, against FamilyMart and Yamazaki Baking for violating the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations. Both companies falsely displayed that their bread products sold in Hokkaido contained butter and mochiko (glutinous rice flour) when they did not. The misleading labeling appeared on packaging from November 2018 to October 2019. The companies were ordered to implement measures preventing recurrence and discontinue similar displays. A corrective notice was also published in newspapers.
