This page reports on the National Police Agency's decision to create a "victim handbook" for crime victims and distribute it to those affected by serious incidents. The handbook aims to reduce the burden on victims explaining their situation when receiving support and help support providers understand the victim's support history. An A5-sized model will be distributed to prefectural police, with distribution starting as early as summer. The target includes victims and families affected by murder, assault, sexual crimes, and serious traffic accidents. Full national implementation is planned for this fiscal year, with a digital version also under consideration.
