The Tokyo Metropolitan Police arrested Takezo Izawa (24), the leader of a group that lured men through disability-focused dating apps and committed overcharging scams at a bar, on fraud charges. Izawa allegedly gave instructions via SNS to women who contacted targets through the apps. Between January and April last year, he and an accomplice defrauded two men in their 20s at a Shibuya bar, obtaining approximately 1.44 and 1.59 million yen respectively. Police suspect over 50 victims may exist.
