This page reports that a former postmaster and former deputy manager of Fukuoka Castle-West Post Office were referred to prosecutors for allegedly assisting in the illegal cash conversion of letter pack vouchers. The two men, while employed, allegedly prepared 1,162 letter packs (worth approximately 500,000 yen) purchased fraudulently using unauthorized credit cards and acquiesced to the crime. Between June 2024 and March 2025, letter pack and stamp sales at this post office totaled approximately 60 million yen, substantially exceeding typical volumes for similarly-sized facilities.
