This page reports on the Hyogo Bar Association issuing a warning to police over illegal interrogation methods. In February 2024, a 12-year-old elementary school girl was interrogated at Akashi Police Station for approximately 3.5 hours until 8 PM. Despite her continued denial, she was coerced into agreeing to a confession statement and her full-body photographs were taken without parental consent or presence. The accusation against her later proved false. The bar association warned that this violated juvenile police activity regulations and constituted human rights violations.
