This page reports that the Hokuriku Shinkansen suspended operations on April 4, 2026, due to strong winds between Nagano and Toyama stations. The suspension began at around 3:40 p.m. and resumed at approximately 5:25 p.m. when winds weakened. According to JR East, an anemometer between Iiyama in Nagano Prefecture and Joetsu-Myoko in Niigata Prefecture reached regulatory wind speed limits. Five trains experienced delays of up to approximately two hours, affecting around 4,000 passengers.
