This page reports a serious accident at JFE Steel's Keihin Works in Kawasaki on April 7th. A 40-meter-high scaffold collapsed during crane dismantling work, causing five male workers to fall. The collapse appears to have been caused by a 500-ton counterweight falling from the crane. Three workers are in critical condition with loss of consciousness, one is missing, and one remains conscious. Police have launched an investigation for occupational negligence.
