This page describes aviation security measures implemented by Japan's Civil Aviation Bureau. Since the September 11th terrorist attacks, the international community has faced aviation security threats. Japan develops security measures following ICAO international standards in cooperation with the global community. New cabin baggage rules for international passenger flights were applied from March 1st, 2007, addressing liquid explosives threats. The government, air carriers, airport operators, and related organizations each play roles in implementing various aviation security measures in Japan, including announcements, videos, posters, and leaflets to inform the public.
