This page announces the lifting of food shipment restrictions on March 8, 2023, by the Nuclear Disaster Countermeasures Headquarters under the Nuclear Emergency Act. Three products have been cleared for shipment: bamboo shoots from Kurihara City, Miyagi Prefecture; shiitake mushrooms from Ibaraki and Ami towns, Ibaraki Prefecture (cultivated with logs in open fields); and eels caught in the lower Tone River. These restrictions are lifted only for areas managed according to prefectural management plans. The lifting was formally decided based on applications from both prefectures and the headquarters director's instructions.
