This page presents the 981st report on radioactive material test results in food, released by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on May 16, 2016, following the Fukushima nuclear accident. Results from 35 municipalities and organizations showed 8 cases exceeding safety standards. Contaminated items were mainly wild plants like fatsia shoots, bamboo shoots, Japanese aralia, and ostrich ferns from Niigata, Miyagi, Nagano, and Yamagata prefectures.
