This page announces the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's measurement results of radioactive strontium and plutonium in food samples collected nationwide from February to May 2012. Market basket samples and home-prepared meals were analyzed for strontium-90 and plutonium concentrations. While strontium-90 was detected in some samples, levels remained within the pre-accident range. No plutonium was detected. The ministry commits to continuing such investigations to verify food safety.
