This page announces Japan's first Ship-to-Ship methanol fuel supply operation, which took place on February 6 in the anchorage off Yokohama Port. The operation was realized based on simulation verification and safety measures compiled by the Port Bureau's methanol bunkering study committee. Methanol fuel supplied includes gray methanol and domestic bio-methanol derived from biogas. Implementing organizations include Yokohama City, Kokuka Industrial, Idemitsu, Mitsui OSK Lines, and Mitsubishi Gas Chemical. The Port Bureau will horizontally deploy the knowledge gained to advance carbon neutrality in Japan's ports.
