This page announces that five new Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) feedstocks have been registered in ICAO's CORSIA scheme based on Japan's proposal. The newly registered feedstocks include coconut testa, dried coconut pulp, pangasius processing waste, biogenic fractions of industrial waste, and biogenic fractions of construction/demolition waste. Since current SAF production relies heavily on waste cooking oil, which cannot meet future demand, diversifying feedstock sources is urgent. These registrations enable use of food processing residues and domestically available waste materials, contributing to decarbonization in aviation.
