This page reports Japan's cruise industry trends for 2019 based on a Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism survey. Japanese cruise passengers reached 357,000, exceeding 300,000 for three consecutive years and setting a record. This includes 238,000 international cruise passengers and 118,000 domestic cruise passengers. International cruise arrivals totaled 2.153 million visitors. Japanese-based international cruises carried 134,000 Japanese and 83,000 foreign passengers. Total cruise ship port calls reached 2,866 at domestic ports.
