This page presents the 1056th report on radioactive material testing results in food released by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on October 23, 2017, following the Fukushima nuclear accident. Test results from 23 prefectures and municipalities are reported. One instance of excess radioactive contamination was detected: wild Japanese deer meat from Miyagi Prefecture exceeded the standard with 250 Bq/kg of cesium. Emergency monitoring results from Fukushima Prefecture and testing by the National Institute of Health Sciences showed no excess contamination. Detailed test results are available in PDF format.
