This page reports enforcement actions taken by Japan's Fair Trade Commission against five manufacturers and distributors of LP gas container valves. Starting in March 2021, four companies agreed to raise sales prices in response to rising brass material costs, with a fifth company joining later. Similar price-fixing agreements were made again in 2022. The five companies collectively set minimum target prices of 900 yen or more per valve, substantially restricting competition in the sales market and violating the Antimonopoly Act's prohibition on unreasonable trade restrictions.
