This page reports the operational status of the Unfair Competition Prevention Act (Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations) in the Hokkaido region for fiscal year 2023. The Fair Trade Commission and Consumer Affairs Agency strictly address unfair displays and excessive premium offerings. In fiscal 2023, three cases were processed: two administrative orders and one advisory guidance. Three display cases involved one superiority misrepresentation and three advantage misrepresentations regarding electricity, gas retail, and solar power systems. No premium cases were handled. The agency received 159 inquiries, primarily concerning dual price displays and food labeling.
