This page presents the Fair Trade Commission's report on antimonopoly law violation cases handled in fiscal year 2020. The FTC enforces antimonopoly law strictly against price cartels, bid rigging, and abuse of superior bargaining positions. In FY2020, the FTC issued 9 cease-and-desist orders covering violations in markets totaling over 22 billion yen, and approved 6 commitment plans. Active investigations were conducted in IT/digital, human resources, and COVID-19 related sectors. Following the December 2020 amendment, the FTC implemented a cooperation-discount system. Three cases received warnings and public disclosure to enhance transparency.
