This page announces the revision of the "Guidelines for Appropriate Gas Transactions" by the Japan Fair Trade Commission and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on February 25, 2021. Originally established in 1999, the guidelines clarify conduct that violates the Antimonopoly Law and Gas Business Law to ensure fair and effective competition in the gas market. The revision was based on actual survey reports following retail deregulation and enforcement actions against violations. A draft revision was published in December 2020, and after receiving and carefully reviewing four public comments, the final revised guidelines were published.
