This page announces the Japan Fair Trade Commission's guidance based on the Freelancer and Business-to-Business Transaction Appropriateness Law issued on March 28, 2025. The JFTC conducted intensive investigations into game software, animation production, relaxation, and fitness club industries where freelance transactions are common. As a result, guidance was issued to 45 business operators regarding corrections to contracts, invoices, order methods, and payment terms. An online reporting window jointly operated with the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency and Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare accepts complaints from freelancers.
