This page announces the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's plan to revise regulations for carrying mobile batteries on aircraft. In response to increasing incidents of smoking and fires from mobile batteries onboard, the ministry is implementing stricter rules based on ICAO international standards. The new regulations will limit cabin carry-on mobile batteries to two units (160Wh or less) and prohibit charging batteries or other devices inside the aircraft. Public comment will be accepted from February 27 to March 30, with the new standards taking effect in mid-April 2026.
