This page presents the 996th report of radioactive substance test results in food products released by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on August 30, 2016, following the Fukushima nuclear accident. Test results from 28 municipalities nationwide, Fukushima Prefecture, and the National Institute of Health Sciences are compiled here. Two samples of Japanese black bear meat exceeded safety standards: one from Miyagi Prefecture and one from Gunma Prefecture. However, emergency monitoring tests and inspections by Fukushima Prefecture and the national research institute showed no exceedances. Detailed results are available in PDF documents.
