This page reports that Japan's eight major automakers produced 1.944 million vehicles globally in February, a 1.5% decline from the previous year. The decrease was attributed partly to the shifted timing of China's Lunar New Year holidays. Due to the ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz, automakers are reducing production for Middle Eastern markets. Toyota plans to cut approximately 20,000 units in March and 24,000 units in April for Middle Eastern models. Nissan is reducing production at its Kyushu factory, while Honda is redirecting Middle Eastern exports to increase domestic production. These impacts are expected to appear in statistics from March onward.
