This page announces that the Fair Trade Commission submitted its fiscal 2019 annual report to the National Diet. The Antimonopoly Law was amended to reform the surcharge system and promote business cooperation in investigations. In fiscal 2019, 99 violation cases were examined and 81 completed. The FTC took legal measures in 13 cases, including 6 price cartels and 3 bid-rigging cases. Surcharge payment orders totaling 69.28 billion yen were issued to 37 entities, and 73 cases involved cooperation under the leniency program.
